The Awards

 Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership is aimed at people aged 14 plus and may be carried out during school time as part of the timetable or as an after school activity. SLUK tutors will lead and assist candidates throughout the course to enable them to help assist in running activities in schools or in the local communities. Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is aimed at people aged 16 years and over who want to improve their life skills and leadership above as well as to have the ability to assist in sports coaching. These courses will be delivered in a variety of community venues throughout the Highlands. The tutors will train and assist in the planning and co-ordination of various fun activities throughout the course.In short, these courses are ideal for anyone who wants to get into sports coaching by learning the core coaching skills without having to worry about the sports specific technical information (the sports specific coaching awards can be completed at some other time). These courses would also apply to you if you want generic leadership training for any type of activity whether it be dance, drama or another recreational pursuit.
