 The Volunteer Centre Network Scotland in partnership with sportscotland appointed 6 Regional Development Officers for Volunteering in sport to support those working in sport to recruit and retain volunteers (Target 10 of Sport 21 - The national Strategy for sport).
 Based in your local Volunteer Centre, Volunteering Highland, Dagmar Borrowman is the Development Officer for Highland and the Western Isles. The Volunteer Centre Highland offers the following services to your sport club:
- Advertise your volunteer opportunities in our 6 centres throughout Highland and on the national website
- Good practice advice for involving volunteers in sport
- Support and advice for developing a framework for the recruitment, recognition and retention of volunteers
- Help you to work towards ensuring equality of access to your volunteering opportunities
- Deliver training on volunteer involvement
- Provide information on volunteering research

Volunteers' Week (1-7 June) is the UK's annual celebration of the work volunteers do. During this Week events are held across the country to recognise, reward and recruit volunteers. This is a great opportunity for your sport club to say THANK YOU to your organisres, timekeepers, coaches, marshalls, parent helpers and all others. For some ideas have a look at:

Recognise Your Volunteers For Their Commitment
Working with young volunteers between the age of 16-25?
Looking to recognize their contribution to your sport?
Why not register your young helpers for the MV awards with Volunteering Highland. Participants will receive awards for 50, 100 or 200 hours volunteering. The Awards are flexible and easily accessible for your young helper and will give them a real boost ensuring they stay with you next year.
